Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Questions and Answers about Stuff Escape

Question 1

Question: I like that online listings can get traffic to my physical store, but what if I want to do transactions purely online?

Answer: Stuff Escape is a listing site that ensures the seller's publicaly available contact information is listed. How a transaction unfolds is completely up to the seller and the buyer. In fact, transactions using cash or check keep unnecessary middlemen and fees out of the interaction. Many payment processors and other corporations have been aggressive in pushing the idea that remote transactions require a payment platform. For most of America's history, the only thing that was needed was a phone and address to receive payment via mail (cash or check).

Question 2

Question: Stuff Escape charges a set amount for 150 listings for a year for $50. Is there any other charge? Do you charge per transaction like other listing sites do?

Answer: Stuff Escape doesn't charge any per transaction fee. We simply can't because the listing and even the message creator tool is to facilitate communication between sellers and the people interested in buying stuff. Most other sites that call themselves listing sites are better described as payment platforms in disguise. The only thing a seller needs to conduct a transaction with a buyer is the item and the ability to receive cash or a check in person or via mail. Apps, cards, and other payment solutions increase costs and mostly benefit those who run those systems. From my time in the military, I learned a very valuable truth--keep it simple.

Question 3

Question: The 150 items listing is good for a year. Does that mean Stuff Escape takes down the listings when the year is up?

Answer: The items stay listed even after a year. In fact, they stay listed even after they're sold. When a seller lets me know that an item is no longer available, I move the item to the past items page listing where it will continue bringing in searchers who find it via search engines. The 150 item cap is for total listings made during the year. And if you want to add more listings, you can simply email me and let me know and we can add more as needed (for another $50 of course--I mean, I have to make a living somehow).

Question 4

Question: I don't know anything about computers or websites. Is listing an item on Stuff Escape difficult or complicated?

Answer: Listing items on Stuff Escape is easy--all it takes is an email and I add the item to the listing page. You simply provide the name of the item, a picture, and a description of it and I do the rest.
